Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Tutorsala collects, why, who can see it and the choices you have. Tutorsala is operated by [Business or legal name], [registered address] ("Tutorsala", "we", "us"). We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Who this covers
- Visitors to tutorsala.com, including people who book a demo or send an enquiry to a tuition center.
- Tuition centers that subscribe to Tutorsala, and their admins and teachers.
- Parents and students whose details a tuition center keeps in Tutorsala.
What we collect
- Demo requests: your name, center name, phone, email, city, number of students and anything you write in the form, plus the advert or link that brought you (for example UTM tags).
- Enquiries to a tuition center (marketplace): your name, phone, email, the child's class or interest and your message.
- Accounts: name, email, phone, role and a securely hashed password. We never store passwords in readable form.
- Records a center keeps: students, batches, class schedules, attendance, homework, marks, teacher notes, fees and invoices, and messages to parents.
- Technical data: IP address and basic request details, used for security and to stop abuse (for example limiting repeated form submissions).
Why we use it
- To contact you about the demo you asked for, and to set up and support your center.
- To pass your enquiry to the tuition center you chose.
- To run the service: sign-in, schedules, attendance, fees, reports and parent updates.
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use student records for advertising.
Tuition centers control their own records
For students, parents and teachers, the tuition center decides what is recorded and why. Tutorsala processes those records on the center's behalf. To see, correct or delete such records, please contact your tuition center first. We will help the center respond.
Who can see your data
- Inside a center, access depends on role: admins see their center; teachers see only their own batches and students; families see only their own children.
- The public marketplace shows only what a center chooses to publish, such as center details, teacher profiles and parent reviews (reviews show the parent's first name only).
- Service providers that host or deliver the service for us: Vercel (website hosting), Neon (database), Resend (account emails such as password resets) and Google Fonts (web fonts).
- Services a center connects itself, such as the WhatsApp Business API (Meta) or an AI assistant (OpenAI). The relevant messages or data are sent to that service only when the center turns it on.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Some providers may process data outside India, under their own security and privacy commitments.
Cookies and analytics
We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in and remember settings. We do not use advertising cookies today. If we add analytics or advert measurement (such as Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel), we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
How we protect it
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) everywhere.
- Passwords hashed; connected-service keys encrypted.
- Role-based access checked on the server, and each center's data kept separate.
How long we keep it
- Demo requests and enquiries: up to 24 months, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Center records: while the center's subscription is active. After it ends, the center can export its data; we delete it within 90 days unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Invoices and payment records: as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, or name someone to act for you. Write to hello@tutorsala.com. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Student records are added by tuition centers, with the consent of a parent or guardian. Children do not sign up on their own; family logins are given to parents.
